It has been a jam-packed month here for us at BOLT. We have some exciting announcements to share on our progress!
100,000 Downloads on Google Play (in 1 month)
We are incredibly proud of our latest milestone — in just 4 weeks, the BOLT app has been dowloaded 100,000 times on Google Play. This has been primarily driven through our organic posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. A warm thank you to our supporters and fans.
7,000 applicants for BOLT’s public contribution whitelist (for 5,000 spots)
The adoption of BOLT service by our consumers has also been matched by the interest from our BOLT Community in our Whitelisting process. We have received 7,000 registrations in less than a week with 5,000 fully completed applications now being processed for approval. Thank you to our Community for the exceptional support!
BOLT Product Updates
- We have released some new features in the BOLT app, including a new portfolio of light-bandwidth games (including one for ardent football fans!)
- New video optimisation and BOLT Originals (World Cup 2018) in our latest Android app update.
The popularity of the BOLT app has primarily been down to the ease of use and also to the trending content that we are curating on BOLT. This month, BOLT is hosting the highlights for all World Cup matches and BOLT World Cup Round Ups, which curates the best moments of the matches each week.
Our BOLT Originals productions, which have been wildly popular amongst our viewers, will continue to centre around providing commentary and colour around major events globally. Here’s some of our coverage during the heroic cave rescue in Thailand.
BOLT Originals, premium short content and Live TV channels are the central focus of BOLT’s content offering. Over the course of the next year (as per our Roadmap), we will be including more features such as radio channels and educational content, and of course, our token ecosystem, which will be powered by Zilliqa. BOLT’s mission is to be the mobile platform of choice and a “One Stop” service for users in the emerging markets.
3. New Football Content Partners (Premier League and Champions League Highlights)
We’re pleased to announce that BOLT will be covering the 2018/19 Premier League, and Champions League highlights. The BOLT Content Team are also bringing on-board a number of other major global sporting events, and we shall share the partnership announcements as soon as the deals have been finalised.
